The Lord is my shepherd
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:11). When we chose Jesus as shepherd in our lives we chose him who is the good shepherd. When Jesus is the shepherd, we must necessarily be the sheep. When you compare a sheep with the shepherd, you will quickly notice that the shepherd is much taller than the sheep. That means that the sheep can’t see as far as the shepherd can. While the good shepherd, Jesus, sees everything in an eternal perspective, will we as his sheep’s see in a timely perspective. We will therefore not always understand the ways he is leading us unto. There is therefore important that we put our trusts in his guidance, even we don’t see what he sees. When we have that trust on him will we experience that “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. (Psalm 23:2). When we have experienced the faithfulness of the shepherd trough difficult times, will we know that only in him is the word of life that makes us overcome everything. Paul the apostle says “I can do all this trough him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). When we feel condemnation and gets accusations, should we know that the one that is inside of us is greater than the one in the world. Jesus has overcome the devil… “The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1 John 3:8b). His victory is yours and mine victory, an victory you can experience today. Whatever the devil condemn or accuse you of, Jesus has a victory for you “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows” (Psalm 23:5). When the enemy does is greatest attack, then, you will have victory if you chose the shepherds guidance and word. When you chose Jesus as shepherd you will not escape trials, but he who is the good shepherd will bring you trough into victory. By choosing Jesus as shepherd you will receive the experience which David Had “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:6). |
